The project started with the intention of making a home for the summer holidays and leisure. To characterize the project contributes, as well as the rural environment with a strong presence of dry stone walls in lava stone, the steep slopes typical orography of the terrain of the area. For this reason, the project is spread over two floors, basement, or bedroom with a private garden courtyard and ground floor or the living area, which overlooks the grand stand where location is the pool. The upper floor has preferred to acquire its own identity without being influenced by the disputed surrounding building. The program has favored the appearance of functional and organic visual relationships with the external space. The upper floor becomes a podium overlooking the outdoor space around the pool, and thanks to the large windows amplifies outer space, visually extending it up inside the house.
During the summer, when the weather allows you to fully open the window frames, the living area becomes one with sun deck area on the edge of the pool, allowing full use of the space. With regard to the compositional aspect, the upper reads like a big plate that sits on the podium, and ripiedandosi on itself, as if it were a “origami” becomes a wall and cover. The steps that connect the podium with the base are emphasized, as if to recreate an outdoor theater that caters to the pool, the center of the intervention.
